Observe the instructions of the charger manufac-
turer.

Batteries should only be charged in a well venti-
lated area.
1.
Open front luggage compartment lid.

Remove cover in luggage compartment.

3.
Connect the red positive charger cable to the
positive terminal

of the battery.
4.
Connect the black negative charger cable to the
ground point

5.
Switch on the charger.
6.
After charging, switch off the charger before
disconnecting it.

For recommendations for a suitable charger:
Contact an authorized Porsche dealer.
Replacing the battery
The data on the battery casing is not enough to
identify a comparable battery that will fulfill all the
specific demands of a Porsche vehicle.

Batteries should only be replaced with AGM
technology (

at) batteries that
fulfill the specific demands of the vehicle.
Porsche recommends original Porsche batteries.

Observe the disposal instructions for batteries.
e
The battery should only be removed and installed
at an authorized Porsche dealer.
e
A new battery needs to be initialized in the control
unit after installation.
Visit an authorized Porsche dealer, as they have
trained technicians and the necessary parts and
tools.
Putting the vehicle into operation
after a battery replacement
After the battery has been connected or after a
deeply discharged battery has been recharged, carry
out the following steps:
1.
Store the final position of the power windows.

2.
Teach in the tires in the Tire Pressure Monitoring
System (TPMS).

Information
The battery will run down even if the vehicle is out of
operation.
e
To maintain battery function, you should charge it
roughly every six weeks or connect it to a charge
maintenance unit designed for AGM (Absorbent
Glass Mat) batteries.
Porsche recommends the charger and charge
maintenance unit from Porsche Tequipment.
e
Once removed, store the battery in a dark, cool
place where there is no risk of frost.

Charging a Frozen or
Damaged Battery
If a frozen or damaged battery is charged, there is a
danger of explosion and chemical burns.
e
Charge battery in a well ventilated area due to
hydrogen gas explosion risk.
e
Never
attempt to charge a frozen or damaged
battery.
