Bar in red area – operating temperature too high
If the coolant level is low, warning signals may appear
if the vehicle tilts at an extreme angle (e.g. steep
slopes) or generates high lateral acceleration while
negotiating long bends (e.g. circular course driving).
If the warnings do not disappear once the vehicle has
assumed “normal” operating state, check the coolant
level.

C - Engine oil temperature
If the engine oil temperature is too high, a warning
message is displayed on the multifunction display.

Reduce engine speed and load immediately.

D - Engine oil pressure
The oil pressure is controlled as required.
Setpoints
The engine oil pressure varies depending on the
engine speed, oil temperature and engine load.
– Battery voltage
– Oil pressure : Engine oil pressure
– Oil temperature : Engine oil temperature
– Coolant temp. : Coolant temperature
– Rem.fuel rng.
– Dst.: Arrival : Arrival time and distance to destina-
tion or stopover
– Dst.: Trip time : Trip time and distance to destina-
tion or stopover
– Compass
– GPS altitude : Vehicle altitude above sea level
– Time
– Date
– Station/Track : Current radio station or music
track
– Phone info : Signal strength or network name
– Blank line : Field remains blank
Adjusting the lower status area

Adapting the main menu
Certain main menu entries can be shown and hidden.

NOTICE
Risk of engine damage.
If the coolant temperature is too high, the coolant
temperature gauge moves to the maximum mark. A
warning message is displayed on the multifunction
display to indicate the high engine temperature and
the warning light lights up or flashes.

If the red zone is reached, find a safe place to stop
and switch off the engine. Do not continue
driving.

Observe the following measures if the coolant
temperature is too high:

Engine speed Oil pressure
4,500 rpm at least 36 psi (2.5 bar)
5,000 rpm at least 39 psi (2.7 bar)
5,500 rpm at least 44 psi (3.0 bar)
NOTICE
Risk of engine damage.
If the oil pressure is too low, a warning message
appears on the multifunction display.

If the oil pressure is too low, find a safe place to
stop and switch off the engine. Do not continue
driving.
