The desired main menu is selected (e.g.
).
Entering text and characters
As soon as text or characters need to be entered, an
input field appears, e.g. for entering a destination or
search term.

There are three ways of entering text and characters:
Entry via the keypad
Making entries using the rotary push button
Entry via free form writing
The free form writing feature has handwriting recog-
nition and enables you to write text and characters
directly with your finger.

Open apps
The Apps menu provides access to Porsche
Connect services as well as app functions.

Show background image
A background image can be shown or hidden in the
menu.

Press the button.
Settings and further functions of the relevant
menu are displayed.
A Current cursor position
B Switch caps lock on/off (toggle between upper
and lower case)
C Show and hide the keypad
D Change between letters, numbers and special
characters
E Handwriting recognition (enter letters or charac-
ters via the touchscreen)
F Insert space
G Confirm entry
H Delete entry
I List of suggestions
1. Select an input field to open the touchscreen
keypad.
2. Enter your desired text or characters.
1. Turn rotary push button (see Fig. 141) until the
desired letter or character is highlighted.
2. Press rotary push button to apply the
highlighted letter or character.
1. Select to open the input field.
2. Write the desired text or characters with your
finger.

To enter a space, swipe your finger from left to
right.

To delete an entry, swipe your finger from right
to left.
Information
Text and numbers can also be entered using voice
control (e.g. for dialing a phone number or entering a
navigation destination).
