Do not exceed the maximum speed of 30 mph
(50 km/h). A vehicle should not be towed for
more than 30 miles (50 km). If a vehicle needs to
be towed for longer distances, it has to be trans-
ported on a transport truck or trailer.

Pulling out a vehicle that has
become stuck

Always pull out the vehicle with the greatest care.
e
Never pull out a vehicle abruptly or at an angle.

If possible, pull the vehicle backward, following
the track previously made.

Attaching the towing hook
The towing hook is stored in the tool box.

1.
Press the upper edge on the front and rear of the
plastic cover into the bumper until it is released,
or carefully release the plastic cover using a
suitable object.
2.
Pull the plastic cover out of the bumper and let it
hang by its thread.
3.
Screw in the towing hook
A
as far as possible
counterclockwise (left-hand thread) and tighten
by hand.
Removing the towing hook
1.
Screw out towing hook
A
clockwise (left-hand
thread).
2.
Insert the plastic cover on the front and rear into
the upper edge of the opening.
3.
Fold in the plastic cover and press on the edge
until it engages in the bumper.
4.
Store the towing hook in the tool box.
NOTICE
e
Use the towing lug only for an emergency to
remove the vehicle off the road. The towing lug is
to be used only to pull the vehicle onto the flat bed,
tractor or towing aparatus if the vehicle will roll
freely. Under no circumstances is the vehicle to be
secured using the towing lug.
e
Never use the towing lug to tow this or any other
vehicle.
e
Bear in mind the limited ground clearance of your
car on uneven surfaces.
