Preventing theft
Before leaving the vehicle, always:
e
Close all windows.
e
Close the convertible top.
e
Activate the electric parking brake.
e
Remove the vehicle key.
e
Close the glove compartment.
e
Close all storage compartments.
e
Remove valuables, car papers, phone and house
keys from the vehicle.
e
Close the luggage compartment lids.
e
Lock the vehicle.
Immobilizer
Every vehicle key contains a transponder (electronic
component) with a stored code.
The ignition lock queries the code before switching
on the ignition.
An authorized vehicle key is required in order to
deactivate the immobilizer and start the engine.
