Using the light switch

Low beam/driving lights
If the light switch is set to the position, the low
beam is automatically switched on in the following
situations:
– Dusk
– Darkness
– Driving through tunnels
– Rain
– Freeway driving (on vehicles with Porsche
Dynamic Light System PDLS)
When the low beam is switched on, the light indicator
on the speedometer lights up.
Rain function
The driving lights are switched on automatically after
five seconds of continuous wiper operation.
If the wipers have not been used for approx. 4
minutes, the driving lights are switched off, provided
the lighting conditions permit.
Automatic driving light assistant
The driving lights (low beams) are switched on and
off automatically depending on the ambient bright-
ness.
The automatic driving light assistant also controls
the daytime running lights, the Automatic Coming
Home lights, and the equipment-dependent dynamic
cornering light.
Activating automatic driving light assistant:

When the ignition is switched on, the
daytime running lights are on.
Automatic driving light assistant
The daytime running lights are automati-
cally switched on in daylight when the
ignition is switched on.
Parking light
License plate light, instrument lighting,
daytime running lights off.
Low beam/driving lights
Only when the ignition is on. Fog lights,
freeway light, daytime running lights and
high beam assistant are off.
Rear fog light
In the low beam position, pull the switch.
The light light indicators up.
Information
– If the vehicle key is removed and the door is
opened while the lights are on, an audible signal
(gong) warns of possible battery discharge.
In some countries, differences are possible due to
legal requirements.
– The vehicle exterior lights can mist up due to
temperature and humidity. This misting will dry
off after a sufficient distance has been driven.

Fog is not automatically detected.

In the event of fog, switch on driving lights
manually.
Information
Despite possible support by automatic headlight
activation, it is the responsibility of the driver to
switch on the driving lights using the conventional
light switch in accordance with the relevant national
regulations.
Activating the headlights using the driving light
assistant therefore does not absolve the driver of
responsibility for correct operation of the driving
light.
