Refueling
The contents of the tank are displayed on the instru-
ment panel when the ignition is switched on.

If an amount less than the model-dependent residual
quantity remains in the fuel tank, the
warning
light on the multifunction display in the instrument
panel lights up when the ignition is switched on or the
engine is running.

Selecting suitable fuels
The engine is optimally designed for unleaded fuels
without metallic additives .
The engine is suited to operation with fuel containing
up to 15% ethanol. The use of fuels containing
ethanol may lead to an increase in fuel consumption.

The RF energy from a mobile phones can cause a
sparking on bare metal, much like aluminum foil in a
microwave oven. The spark could ignite gasoline
fumes present while refueling.
Do not use a mobile phone while pumping gas.

Danger of Fire from Static
Electricity during
Refueling
Static discharge from your body can ignite gasoline
fumes present when you get back out of the vehicle
and touch the fuel nozzle.
Do not re-enter the vehicle while pumping gas.

Risk of Fire during
Refueling
Fuel is highly flammable, can deflagrate or explode.

Fire, naked flames and smoking are prohibited
when handling fuel.

Fuel Vapors and Skin
Contact with Fuel
Fuel and fuel vapors are harmful to health.

Do not inhale fuel vapors.

Avoid contact with skin and clothing.
NOTICE
To prevent damage to the emission control system
and engine:

Never drive the tank dry.
e
Avoid high cornering speeds after the warning
lights have come on.
Information
In some cases, fuels have a high sulfur content. As a
result, under certain driving conditions, combustion
in the engine can lead to output of unpleasant odors
(known as the "odor of rotten eggs"). Porsche is not
responsible for this circumstance and it does not
indicate a vehicle fault.
NOTICE
Unsuitable fuels may damage the engine as well as
the fuel and exhaust system.

Only use fuel according to the specification below.

Do not use any fuels containing methanol.
Information
Information regarding fuel quality can normally be
found on the fuel pump. Service station employees
can also provide information.
NOTICE
Unleaded fuels may not be available outside the
continental U.S. and Canada.

Do not take your car to areas or countries where
unleaded fuel may not be available.
