2.9 5ESS Provisioning
This subsection provides instructions for setting 5ESS provisioning parameters that define ACD
entities tracked during Centrex or Internet ACD call handling. The parameters set through this feature
also establish limitations when setting VU-ACD/100 For Windows Recent Change/Verify options.
The provisioning feature also includes two tools for verifying 5ESS parameters. The probe tool
sends a command to the 5ESS switch server to discover information about listed and unlisted
ACD entities. The audit tool verifies a range of provisioning parameters currently entered in the
provisioning database.
2.9.1 Prerequisites
If the VU-ACD/100 host is going to interface with a 5ESS switch server, follow the
instructions detailed below prior to entering parameters in the 5ESS Provision Table.

Refer to the Lucent Technologies 5ESS Call Center Survey and complete the survey forms
in cooperation with the telco supplying 5ESS Centrex ACD services. Retain a copy of the
Survey Forms for final editing.

Obtain a listing of assigned switch indexes for all ACD entities from the telco. Edit Survey
Forms to include appropriate switch indexes.

Work with telco to program the Application Interface Unit (AIU) supplying secure MIS
links to the VU-ACD/100 host. The AIU must be programmed to initiate ACD MIS
services and complete provisioning of the local 5ESS database.

Verify that MIS links have been installed and configured to the VU-ACD/100 host.

Enter 5ESS Provision Table parameters in the VU-ACD/100 host (refer to
Section 2.9.3). This information is derived from parameters entered in the AIU.

The 5ESS switch engine does not download initialization data
identifying ACD entities to the VU-ACD/100. All provisioning data is manually
entered and verified using probe and audit tools.
