VU-ACD™/100 Maintenance Guide – Host/DOS

2.2.2

Complete System Restore

This menu option copies and overwrites all VU-ACD/100 files from a tape cartridge to the host hard
disk.  Use this function only to recover from a hard disk crash.  After a restoration the hard disk data
reverts to the date and time of the data stored on the automatic nightly backup or from a Complete
System Backup cartridge tape.

PERFORMING A COMPLETE SYSTEM RESTORE REQUIRES SHUTTING
DOWN ACD MIS PROCESSES. INCOMING DATA WILL BE LOST DURING
THE SHUTDOWN PERIOD.

Do not perform a restore unless absolutely certain of the integrity of the
data on the tape cartridge. As a safety precaution, perform a hard disk
backup onto another tape cartridge immediately before the restore.

the ACD MIS from a Complete Back-up or automatic nightly
back-up tape.  The Complete Restore option should not be
executed while the ACD MIS processes are running.

Please note this selection will completely write over existing
data on the hard disk.
