VU-ACD™/100 Maintenance Guide – Host/DOS
Maintenance Utilities
2.4
Load Management Limits
This subsection provides instructions for setting DMS-100 Meridian Centrex limitations on nine Load
Management features. The configurations set through this feature also establish end user limitations
when setting VU-ACD/100 Load Management Menu screen options. Disabling a function prevents
access to that function from the VU-ACD/100 Load Management Menu. Available Load Management
options correspond to Batch Change Supplement (BCS) release software options.
Changes to Load Management Limits affect the Load Management (LM) screens, based on the following
conditions:
•
Some LM Screens Not Affected
– Limits for Audio Group, Threshold Route, Night
Service Route and Controlled Interflow Route typically are not affected by values entered
in Change Load Management Limits. (The values shown on these screens are received
from the DMS-100 during initialization.) However, if the minimum and maximum values
were set equal using Change Load Management Limits, users cannot modify the values in
the Load Management Screens. In this situation the message Permission Denied appears
when a user attempts to modify the values.
•
Minimum Value Equals Maximum Value
– In all cases, if the minimum and maximum
values are equal, users cannot change the values on the respective Load Management
Screens. The message Permission Denied appears when a user attempts to modify the
values.
•
Values Received from the DMS-100 vs. Values Entered
– If values are being changed
using the Change Load Management Limits utility while the DMS-100 switch is sending
Load Management values to the system, the values entered in the system overwrite the
values being sent by the DMS-100.
•
Multi-Stage Queue Status
– Minimum values for second and third thresholds of the Multi-
Stage Queue Status are greater than or equal to the first and second thresholds, respectively,
regardless of the minimum values entered using the Change Load Management Limits
feature.
•
Overflow Type
– Change Load Management Limits affects both the Overflow type and
start entries on the Overflow Type Load Management Screen.
