Automatic sorting settings
● You can set a total of 700 mail addresses, phone numbers, phonebook groups or mailing lists for automatic sorting in all
the folders in the Inbox and Outbox. You can set multiple mail addresses, phone numbers, phonebook groups or mailing
lists for the same folder. Only 1 subject can be set for each folder.
● If received or sent mail meets multiple sort criteria, the Auto-sort settings are prioritized as shown below, with

having
the highest priority. Note that mail for mail-connected i-
α
ppli is sorted into the respective dedicated folder regardless of
the Auto-sort settings. Also, chat mail is always sorted into the “Chat” folder when “Sort all” is not set regardless of the
Auto-sort settings.

Select the automatic sorting settings from the following

● When you download a mail-connected i-

ppli, an i-

ppli mail folder is automatically created.
<Auto-sort>
● You cannot set the “Inbox”, “Outbox”, “Chat” or “Trash box” folders in automatic sorting.
● If “Mail security” (P. 152) is set for the Inbox or Outbox in the Mail menu, is displayed next to “Inbox” and “Outbox” in the Mail menu. In this
situation, you have to enter your security code.
● If Mail security (P. 284) is set for an added folder, you must enter your security code after step 1.
● Mail sent as broadcast mail is not sorted under the condition set in “Address sort”.

● The folder name of mail connected i-
α
ppli cannot be edited.
<Mail security>
● You cannot delete or edit the names of folders for which mail security is set.
<Delete folder>
● You cannot delete a folder that contains protected mail or a folder for which mail security is set. Remove the protection or mail security and then
delete the folder.
● You cannot delete an i-
α
ppli mail folder if there is a corresponding mail-connected i-
α
ppli. You can delete an i-
α
ppli mail folder if there is no
corresponding software, but the folder created in the Inbox folder list display or Outbox folder list display is also deleted.
● If you delete a folder that is specified in the “Auto-sort” settings, the automatic sorting setting for that folder is also canceled.
<Sort folder>
● You cannot sort the “Inbox”, “Outbox”, “Chat” or “Trash box” folders and you cannot run “Sort folder” when any of these folders is selected.
● You cannot run “Sort folder” when there is only 1 added folder.
<Delete read>
● This option does not delete read SMS or i-mode mail that is protected.
<Delete all (Delete all sent mails)>
● This option does not delete protected SMS or i-mode mail.
<Delete all (Delete all received mails)>
● This option also deletes unread mail. However, it does not delete protected SMS or i-mode mail.
