P ow er Closing A ssist fo r Doors
and Trunk Lid
The doors and trun k lid close
autom atically if:
• doors are pushed aga in st the
lock,
• trunk lid is low ered aga in st the
lock.
It is not necessary to slam doors
or trun k lid closed, a pneum atic
pow er-assisted m echanism w ill
latch doors and trun k lid q uietly
and a uto m a tica lly once the lid or
door has been bro ug ht to a close.
W hen the pneum atic pow er-
assisted m echanism has stopped,
doors a n d /o r trun k can be
reopened.
If the trun k lid does not close,
refer to Trunk Lid, M anual C losing
in Index.
Note:
To p revent possible personal
injury, alw ays keep hands and
fin g ers aw ay from th e door or
tru n k o pening w hen closing a
d oor or th e tru n k lid. Be e sp e ­
c ially care fu l w hen sm all
ch ild ren are around.
T h e pn eu m atic pow er closing
assist m ech anism can n o t be
interrup ted o n ce it has been
engaged.
To p revent personal injury,
never activate th e closing
assist m ech anism by ta m p e r­
ing with th e door or tru nk lid
latch.
