The First 1000 Miles
(1500 km)
The m ore ca utio usly you treat your
v e hicle durin g the break-in period,
the m ore satisfied you w ill be with
its perform ance later on. T he re ­
fore, drive your ve hicle durin g the
first 1000 m iles (1500 km) at
m oderate ve hicle and engine
speeds.
D uring this period, avoid heavy
loads (full throttle d riving) and high
RPM (no m ore than 2/3 of m axi­
m um p erm issible speed in each
gear as indicated on the
speedom eter).
Avoid a ccelerating by kickdow n. It
is not recom m ended to brake the
v e hicle by m an ua lly shifting to a
low er gear. We recom m end to
select positions ” 3 ” , ” 2 ” or ” B ”
only at m oderate speeds (for hill
driving).
After 1000 m iles (1500 km)
speeds m ay be g ra du ally in­
creased to the perm issible
m axim um .
