inform ation. W e urge you to read it ca re fully and
fa m iliarize yo urself w ith the ve hicle before driving.
For your own safety and longer se rvice life of the
vehicle, we urge you to follow the instru ction s and
w arnin gs contained in this m anual. Ignoring them
could result in dam age to the ve hicle or personal
injury to you or others.
Your ve hicle m ay have som e or all of the e q u ip ­
m ent describ e d in this m anual. T herefore, you m ay
find explan atio n s of equ ip m en t not installed in your
vehicle. If you have any questions about the o pe ra ­
tion of any e quipm ent, your authorized M ercedes-
Benz dealer w ill be glad to d em onstrate the proper
procedures.

The O w n e r’s S ervice and W arranty P olicy Booklet
contains detailed inform ation about the w arranties
covering your M ercedes-B enz, including:

Linder C alifo rn ia law you m ay be entitled to a
replacem ent of your ve hicle or a refund of the
purchase price, if M ercedes-B enz of North Am erica,
Inc. or its authorized dealer fails to conform the
ve h icle to its express w arranties after a reasonable
n um be r of repair attem pts during the period of one
year or 12 000 m iles from o rigin al d elivery of the
vehicle. A reasonable num ber of repair attem pts is
presum ed for a retail buyer (1) if the ve hicle is out
of service by reason of repair of substantial non­
co nfo rm ities for a cum u la tive total of m ore than
30 ca le nd ar days or (2) the sam e substantial non­
co nfo rm ity has been su b je ct to repair fo ur or m ore
tim es
and you have at least o n ce d irectly notified
us in w riting of th e need to repair th e non-con­
form ity and have given us an opportunity to per­
form th e repair o urselves. N o tificatio n s should
be sen t to th e n ea re st M erc ed e s-B en z Regional
O ffice listed in th e O w n e r’s S ervice and W arran ­
ty Info rm atio n Booklet.
M ain ten an ce
The M aintenance Booklet d escrib e s all the
necessary m aintenance w ork w hich should be
perform ed at regular intervals.
A lw ays have the M aintenance Booklet with you
when you take the vehicle to your authorized
M ercedes-B enz dea le r for service. The service
advisor w ill record each se rvice in the booklet for
you.
