5. Start eng in e of the ve hicle with
the charged battery and run at
high idle. Then start eng in e of
the disabled ve h icle in the
usual m anner.
6 . After the eng in e has started,
rem ove ju m p e r cables by
exactly reversing the above
installation sequence, starting
w ith the last connection m ade
first. W hen rem oving each
clam p, m ake sure th at it does
not touch any other m etal w hile
the other end is still attached.
Important!
N ever lean over b atteries w h ile
con n ectin g or jum p starting,
you m ight get injured.
B attery fluid con tains sulfuric
acid. Do not allow this fluid to
co m e in con tact w ith eyes,
skin or clothing. In case it
does, im m ed iately flush
affe c te d area w ith w ater,
and s e e k m edical help.
A battery will also produce
hydrogen gas, w hich is
flam m ab le and very explosive.
K eep flam es or sparks aw ay
fro m battery, avoid im p ro p er
con n ectio n of ju m p e r cables,
sm oking etc..
Warning!
A d isch arg ed battery can freeze at
approx. + 1 4 °F (-1 0 ° C ). In that
case, it m ust be thaw ed out before
ju m p e r cables are used.
Ju m p er cable specificatio ns:
• M inim um cable cross-section of
25 m m 2 or approx. 2 AW G
• M axim um length of 11.5 ft.
(3.5 m).
