Hood
To open:
To u nlock the hood, pull release
lever (1) under the d riv e r’s side of
the instrum ent panel. At the sam e
tim e handle (2) w ill extend out of
the radiator grill (it m ay be neces­
sary to lift the hood up slightly).
Caution!
To avoid dam age to the w in d ­
shield w ipers or hood, open the
hood only with w ipers in the
parked position.
Pull handle (2) co m p le te ly out of
radiator grill and open hood (do
not pull up on handle).
To close:
Low er hood and let it drop into
lock from a h eight of approx.
1 ft. (30 cm ), assisting w ith flat
hands placed only on edges of
hood (3).
To avoid hood dam age, if hood
is not fu lly closed, repeat closing
procedure.

injury, stay clear of moving
parts w h en th e hood is open
and th e e n g in e is running. Be
sure th e hood is properly
closed b efo re driving.
T h e e n g in e is equipped with a
tran sisto rized ignition system .
B ecause of th e high voltage it
is dangerous to touch any
c o m po n ents (ignition coil,
distributor, spark plug
sockets, ignition cables,
diagnostic socket) of the
ignition system
• with th e e n g in e running,
• w h ile starting th e engine,
• if th e ignition is ”o n ” and
th e e n g in e is turned
m anually.
