Configuring Multicast MAC Ping
Multicast MAC ping is used to discover all remote MEPs of a MEP in an MA.
Context
Multicast MAC ping is used to discover all remote MEPs of a MEP in an MA. A MEP sends a
multicast LBM. After receiving the multicast LBM, a remote MEP replies with an LBR carrying
the MAC address and MEP ID of the remote MEP and delay. Before running the
remote-mep
command to configure a remote MEP in the current MA, you are recommended to run the
ping
mac multicast
command to configure multicast MAC ping.
Perform the following steps on each edge device in an MA:
