By default, the size of a test packet is 64 bytes, the rate at which test packets are sent is 1 Mbit/
s, and the number of sent packets is 5. During test packet transmission, parameters of sent test
packets cannot be changed.
To stop the device sending test packets, press
Ctrl+C
.
Step 4
Disable remote loopback.
1.
Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.

Run:
interface
interface-type
interface-number
The interface view is displayed.

Run:
efm loopback
stop
Remote loopback is disabled on the interface.
If remote loopback for a link is not disabled for a long period of time, the link cannot forward
service data properly in this period. To avoid this problem, a timeout period can be set. After
the timeout period expires, remote loopback is automatically disabled. The default timeout
period of remote loopback is 20 minutes. After remote loopback expires, the local end
automatically sends a message to the remote end to disable remote loopback.

Checking the Configurations
After configuring remote loopback, check whether the configuration succeeds.

Run the
display efm session
{
all
|
interface
interface-type interface-number
} command
to check the EFM status on interfaces.

Run the
display test-packet result
command to check statistics about returned test packets.
After remote loopback is configured, run the
display efm session
command on the device where
the remote loopback interface resides. The command output shows that the EFM status on the
interface is
Loopback (control)
, indicating that the interface initiates the remote loopback
process.
