On the network shown in
, CE1 is dual-homed to CE2 and CE4. The requirements
on the network are as follows:

The connectivity of links between CE1 and CE4 and between CE4 and CE3 can be
monitored.
l
When the link between CE1 and CE4 goes faulty, CE3 can detect the fault.
l
When the link between CE1 and CE4 goes faulty, traffic can be switched to the backup
link between CE1 and CE2.

Configuration Roadmap
The configuration roadmap is as follows:
1.
Configure EFM for the link between CE1 and CE4 to monitor link connectivity.
2.
Configure EFM for the link between CE4 and CE3 to monitor link connectivity.
3.
Configure association between EFM and EFM on CE4 to report link faults.
4.
Configure association between EFM and GE 1/0/3 on CE3 so that traffic can be switched
to a backup link if the link between CE1 and CE4 fails.
