3.6 (Optional) Installing T/H Sensors Outside a Cabinet
and Cables
Context

The T/H sensors outside the cabinet are used to detect the temperature and
humidity of remote points. The installation position can be determined based on
the site requirements. It is recommended that the T/H sensors be deployed near
heat sources, or near places that lack cooling capacity. Place the T/H sensors near
the cabinet. The sensors cannot face the air outlet of the device.
Procedure
Step 1 Connect the IN port on the first T/H sensor outside the cabinet to the RS485/12V
port on the main control module.
Step 2 Connect the OUT port on the T/H sensor outside the cabinet to the IN port on the
next T/H sensor outside the cabinet in series.
NO TE
● Each smart cooling product supports a maximum of twelve T/H sensors outside the
cabinet, including a maximum of six cold aisle T/H sensors and six hot aisle T/H sensors.
● It is recommended that the total length of the cable required for the T/H sensors
outside the cabinet be less than or equal to 150 m. If the cable length is greater than
120 m, obtain 12 V DC power from the site to supply power to the T/H sensors that are
120 m or further away from the cabinet. Ensure that the input voltage of each T/H
sensor ranges from 9 V to 16 V.
● The T/H sensors outside the cabinet must be connected to a Category 5E cable or a
network cable with higher specifications. Otherwise, the power supply voltage of the
T/H sensors may be insufficient due to large impedance of the network cable. When the
voltage is less than 9 V, the T/H sensors cannot work properly.
Step 3 Set DIP switches of the T/H sensors.
