Adjust the slits to
maximize the signal
without saturating
the detector.

Similarly, locate the maximum reference signal
of the lamp spectrum.

Set the excitation monochromator to that
position.

Adjust the high voltage HV2, as needed, so that
the reference signal is ~ 1
μ A (saturation of the
reference detector is 10 μ A).

Acquire transmission spectra.
Either
a
