The following lamp scan spectrum shows poor resolution in the area around the peak.

Poor lamp scan of 150-W Xe lamp. Note low resolution in the area near

the 467-nm peak.

This lack of spectral resolution appears because the slit widths are set too wide. To re-
solve this problem, narrow the slit widths.
