9. Handle Lock Module Power Voltage Line Inspection
Disconnect the handle lock module 21P (Black) connector.
Measure the voltage between the handle lock module 21P connector and ground.
Is there battery voltage?
YES
–
NO
–
Open or short circuit in Black/white and/or Red/white wire between the battery and handle
lock module.
10. Handle Lock Module Power Ground Line Inspection
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Check the continuity between the test harness and ground.
Is there continuity?
YES
–
Replace the handle lock module with a new one and recheck.
NO
–
Open circuit in Green and/or Green/black wire
11. Diagnostic Code Inspection
Check if the diagnostic code can be indicated (page 23-8).
Does the diagnostic code indicate?
YES
–
Check each item in the diagnostic code (page 23-8).
NO
–
Replace the handle lock module with a new one and recheck.
Engine Does Not Start
1. Ignition Switch Inspection
Check if the card key is recognized by the handle lock module and the ignition switch can be turned.
Can the ignition switch be turned?
YES
–
NO
–
See "The ignition switch can not be turned ON" (page 23-13).
2. Ignition Switch Inspection
Turn the ignition switch ON, then Check for turn signal light and horn operation.
Do the turn signal light and horn operate normally?
YES
–
NO
–
• Faulty wire harness
• Blown MAIN B fuse (15 A)
• Blown ECU, IGN fuse (10 A)
• Faulty ignition switch
• Faulty engine stop relay
• Faulty bank angle sensor
• Faulty handle lock module
3. PGM-FI System Inspection
Turn the ignition switch ON, then check if the MIL stays on for 2 seconds.
Does MIL stay on for two seconds?
YES
–
See "ENGINE DOES NOT START OR IS HARD TO START" (page 26-2).
NO
–
• Goes off
– NSS250S: Inspect the PGM-FI system (page 6-95).
– NSS250A: Inspect the PGM-FI system (page 6-99).
• Stay on
