FRONT WHEEL/SUSPENSION/STEERING

Pull the fork pipe up fully.
Install the fork spring with the tightly wound end
facing down.
Coat a new O-ring with fork fluid and install it into
the groove in the fork cap bolt.
Install the fork cap bolt and tighten it to the specified
torque.
INSTALLATION
Install the fork legs into the steering stem and align
the groove of the fork pipe with the upper bolt hole
in the stem, then install the upper mounting bolt.
Tighten the upper/lower fork mounting bolts to the
specified torque.
Install the front brake caliper to the fork leg and
tighten new mounting bolts to the specified torque.
Install the brake hose clamp and tighten the bolt.
Install the following:
– Front wheel (page 15-17)
– Front fender (page 3-30)
STEERING STEM
REMOVAL
Remove the following:
– Inner cover (page 3-27)
– Front fork (page 15-18)
– Handlebar post (page 15-11)
Remove the bolt and brake hose clamp.
TORQUE: 22 N·m (2.2 kgf·m, 16 lbf·ft)

TORQUE: 69 N·m (7.0 kgf·m, 51 lbf·ft)
MOUNTING BOLTS
TORQUE: 30 N·m (3.1 kgf·m, 22 lbf·ft)
