7.5. Troubleshooting of drive system
7.5.1. MCU communication timeout / offline
Fault code and name: Error-MCU communication timeout / offline
Verify that the power supply of the MCU and the VMU, and whether the CAN joint are loose or withdrawn.
In the state of key switch off and On, verify whether there is 24V voltage between E / F and L / M.
In the key switch ON state, verify whether there is an activation signal (voltage above 24V) between G and L / M.
Verify that the terminal resistance between the MCU and the key switch off is 60
Ω
when key switch off.
Verify the CAN bus between the MCU and the VMU, whether the voltage and ground is normal .
Connect the MCU separately using the diagnostic cable to test. If communication is still not available, replace the
MCU.
7.5.2. Troubleshooting method for over temperature failure:
Fault code and name: 0x320F Error-Motor Control Machine 0x0F-Motor temperature
Static failure
Check whether the resistance of the A / B.C / D.E / F pin on the motor side is the same or not much different (about
1.1K)
The difference between the measured values is small or the same, which proves that the motor differential temperature
sensor is normal
The difference between the measured values is too large, which proves that there is a problem with this group of
temperature sensors. You need to ask the company to confirm whether there is a joint inside motor on the 6 wires. If
there is, you need to remove the rear cover to measure again. If there is not,you need replace a motor.
Dynamic failure
Touch the MCU / motor case with your hands to verify if it is really over temperature
Check whether is lack of coolant
Verify that the cooling water pump and cooling fan are working properly
Verify that there is no air in the cooling line (if the coolant is replaced, it must be checked)
Verify that the MCU and motor resolver and temperature sensor wires are loose, and then tighten again.
Check whether the motor cable base of the resolver is withdrawn or not. If it is withdrawn, please reset the withdrawn
pin. If it cannot be reset, you need to replace the pin or resolver stator assembly.
To verify whether the temperature has a sudden change, it is needed to collect data by following the vehicle, use
ODIN software to find the ThermalIndicator, DriveCoolingRequest, MotorCoolingRequest and drag them to the left
margin, and observe the three items how to changes in the road test. If the ThermalIndicator quickly rises above 50,
check if the cooling water pump is working. If the DriveCoolingRequest rises up quickly, please check whether the
water flow at the controller meets the requirements. If the MotorCoolingRequest rises up quickly, please check
whether the motor water flow meets the requirements.
