Installation and adjustment requirements of ZF 8098 steering gear
Ambient requirements for steering gear installation
Contamination in the steering oil pipeline may lead to steering gear failure; therefore it’s necessary
to maintain a clean environment for steering gear installation.
Installation of the steering gear
Install the steering gear using specified bolts and tightening torques;
Ensure that there is no paint or grease on the mounting surface;
Ensure the strength of steering gear mounting bracket.
Steering drop arm
Stamp a central position marking on the steering drop arm following design requirements, and align
it with the marking on rocker shaft while mounting.
