Break System BR-6125J93C-01 BR-57
6S/6M (6 sensors and 6 electromagnetic valves)
3.
ABS working mechanism and installation of its components
ABS working mechanism is as follows: the gear ring and sensor in coordination produce an induced
voltage signal to ECU; the ECU receives and processes the electric signal and transmits an instruction
signal to the electromagnetic valve; and the electromagnetic valve regulates the braking pressure in the
braking air chamber in accordance with the instruction. ABS indictor tells the driver if the ABS system
works normally. The whole system installation includes the installation on the air line, electric power line
and axle.
3.1 Installation of gear rings
The gear ring is installed on wheel rim in interference fit. The fit tolerance is recommended to be H8/s7.
There are two ways to install the gear ring. One is heating-installation. The gear ring is heated to 180
℃
~
200
℃
and kept at the temperature for 5~10 minutes. Then, the installation requires no large external
force. The other method is compression installation. Use a special tool to apply a uniform force along the
whole ring on a press machine. It is strictly prohibited to use a hard object to knock on the gear ring lest
the gear surface and shape should be damaged. The axial deviation after the installation should be smaller
than 0.2mm and the height deviation between adjacent teeth should be smaller than 0.04mm.
3.2 Sensors
3.2.1 Installation of sensors
Generally, the installation holes for the clamp sleeve of the front axle sensor are located on the brake base
plate or the steering knuckle. The installation on the rear axle needs a clamp for fixing the sensor and the
clamp should be installed at the static part of the axle and has sufficient stiffness and installation stability
for reducing the vibration effect. The axial direction of the sensor should be perpendicular to the
longitudinal direction of the gear ring, with the maximum angle deviation being ±2.5°. In installation,
coat the bushing with lubrication grease and insert it into the clamp sleeve till the flange contacts the
clamp sleeve. Then screw in the sensor coated with grease into the sleeve. The sensor should be propelled
till it contacts the gear ring. When the wheels rotate, the sensor and the gear ring will form a clearance.
Do not use a hard object to knock on the sensor. The installation of sensors on the front and rear axles is
shown in Fig.1 and Fig.2 respectively.
