‹ Working principle
The automatic clearance adjusting arm is clearance induction adjusting device, which can enable a proper
clearance between the brake drum and the brake shoe. The groove clearance of rack is corresponding to the normal
clearance between the brake drum and the brake shoe.
When the brake engages, the rack will move upward to drive the ratchet wheel and the setting of single-way
ratchet wheel allows the rack to move upward.
The torque transmitted by braking will drive the worm shaft to compress the spring and the movement of worm
shaft will release the cone ratchet wheel at its left end.
When the brake is released:
The spring will counteracts on the worm wheel shaft to make the it mesh with the cone ratchet wheel.
The rack will be pushed back to the initial place in the clearance groove.
The wear of brake shoe will cause the ratchet wheel lock-up by rack rotation and meanwhile, the locked ratchet
wheel will turn the worm shaft, which drives the worm wheel and camshaft to adjust the brake.
