Use of ABS
Precautions during the application of ABS:
z It is strictly prohibited to wash the ECU with water.
z Do not use a multimeter to measure the ECU.
z When the storage battery is charged from an external high voltage source, disconnect the ABS.
z Turn off the power supply when dismantling any parts.
z
Disconnect the ABS when welding on the vehicle.
z Frequently check if the voltage of the alternator is stable.
z Replace the ABS light in a timely manner if it is damaged.
z Do not change the fuse capacity randomly.
Note:
ABS will function only when the wheels tend to be locked up in an emergency braking. Simply speaking,
ABS functions in a way a driver makes rapid and frequent inching braking. But a driver’s inching braking
can in no way be compared with ABS, which can realize 3-5 changes in one second.
When the vehicle is furnished with an ABS system, the driver should, in making an emergency braking,
first quickly presses the clutch and then strongly presses the brake pedal, and meanwhile uses the steering
wheel to control the vehicle to avoid any obstacle.
If the ABS light is on during driving, the ABS system has trouble. But the conventional braking function
will still work and the vehicle can still be driven safely. However, such vehicle should be sent to a
specified repair shop as soon as possible for diagnosis and repair, so as to restore the ABS system to a
normal state. WABCO authorized service stations in China are listed in Appendix 2. When your vehicle’s
