Exiting Annotation Mode

Annotation Mode can be exited directly, indirectly or through timeout.
1.

Direct exit: Press either Abc on the screen or Exit hardkey. The cursor disappears.

2.

Indirect exit: Any user action that takes over control of the trackball and/or cursor

deactivates annotation mode (i.e. change of image mode)

3.

Timeout exit: If a timeout is configured in the system setup, the mode is deactivated and

the normal scan menu appears.

Annotation Area, Font and Color

The annotation area is the same area as the ultrasound image area.
To indicate that a particular annotation is active, the color turns to green. Once the annotation

is fixed with

Set

, the color returns to Bright Yellow or Bright Orange.

7.3.1 Annotation

Obtain the desired image and then turn on/off the Annotation by pressing

Abc

button on the

bottom left corner of the screen. The annotation feature is available in freeze mode and scan

mode. Specific functions can be programmed in the System Setup.

Annotation Controls

Abc (text)

Annotation on/off . Long press to edit annotations.

Bodymark

Opens the bodymark menu

Indicator

Opens the indicator menu

Exit

Annotation off Only possible if the text menu is present. Use the Exit hardkey.

Annotation controls - other functionality

New exam

When a new exam is started all text annotations are deleted on Layer A and B.

Unfreeze

When an image is unfrozen all text annotations are deleted on the active Layer A or

B. This depends on the configuration in the system setup.

7.3.2 Text

Text can be entered in two ways:
1.

Free text typing using virtual keyboard: The virtual keyboard can be used to type freely

on the screen. The text is visible on the display screen at the location of the text cursor

as the user types.

Note

As soon as typing is started on the virtual keyboard, autocomplete suggestions are displayed

on the autocomplete bar. Tap onto the desired suggestion to enter the text.

2.

Using the label presets: Drag the desired text label on the US imaging area. These

preset texts can be editted by a long pressing ABC. Annotation can be added, edited or

reordered from this menu.

Note

A space character is added at the end of the dragged preset texts to provide an automatic

separation for the next entry.

To delete the last entered word, press the bottom part of the trackball.

Folders

To select a desired application, touch the arrow button or any part of the area.
