8-6-5 BEP Replacement Procedure

BEP Installation Procedure
NOTE:
When performing the following installation procedure steps, it may be helpful to review the appropriate
movie clips previously referenced in the
8-6-5-4 "BEP Removal Procedure" on page 8-135
.
1) Carefully return the new BEP to the correct position in the cage assembly - refer to
.
NOTE:
IMPORTANT - When replacing the BEP or Hard Disk, one must either obtain new access codes
that will fit the system ID which is programmed on the BEP, or program the BEP system ID to
fit the access codes already registered in the Hard Disk. Only qualified personnel should
perform these tasks.
2) Check that the BEP is seated correctly then return and fasten the three screws (previously
removed) to secure the BEP to the cage assembly - refer to
.
3) Proceed to reconnect the following cables to their connectors on the BEP (refer to
):
a.) Reconnect the Fan-to-BEP power cable
b.) Reconnect the RFI-to-BEP Flex cable.
c.) Reconnect the DC/DC-to-BEP power cable.
d.) Reconnect the USB cable
4) Carefully reconnect the Keyboard cable to the BEP; return and tighten the screw on the bracket to
hold the cable connector in place - see
. Make sure that the Ground cable is properly
seated so that it is flush with the top of the bracket (push down if necessary, taking care not to
damage the wires inside the cable).
5.) Secure the cables with a plastic cable tie wrap, as indicated in
.
6.) Return the battery, battery bracket and cable, as described in the
8-6-2-5 - Battery Installation
8-6-3-5 "Battery Bracket Installation Procedure" on page 8-121
.
7.) Return the hard disk, as described in the
8-6-4-5 "Hard Disk Installation Procedure" on page 8-123
.
8) Return the cabinet cage assembly to the system, reconnect the cables (previously disconnected),
close the cabinet cage door and fasten securely with the two latches.

9) Return the front cover, as described in the
8-2-6-4 "Front Cover Installation Procedure" on page 8-
.
e.) Return the left and right side covers, as described in the
8-2-3-4 "Left Side Cover Installation
and
8-2-2-4 "Right Side Cover Installation Procedure" on page 8-5
10.)Turn ON the system and boot-up.
