Chapter 4 - OMNIA software COSMED srl
Introduction
This chapter describes the operation of Q-NRG using the OMNIA software (optional).
OMNIA is a software platform developed by COSMED designed for data management, interpretation and reporting
of all tests performed with the entire COSMED product range, from spirometry to lung function equipment and
from metabolic to body composition assessment.
OMNIA, provides an innovative and user-friendly interface which allows users to navigate and access the main
features and perform tests easily in a multi-language environment.
OMNIA is available both in Standalone and Network versions. The network version is fully featured with client /
server architecture where a single license can be shared on local area network (LAN) or wide area network (WAN)
environment.
Q-NRG can communicate with OMNIA via Bluetooth® or via USB.
Key points for using Q-NRG with OMNIA are:
• Storage of data and results in a secure database (network server or standalone computer).
• Remote test execution.
• Advanced data analysis and data export.
• Customizable reports.
• Integration with Hospital Information Systems (HL7 or GDT).
Refer to the OMNIA user manual for detailed description of all the features.
Note: While performing a test controlling the device using the OMNIA software, the results are stored on
both Q-NRG and computer memory. During Bluetooth tests only, data loss may occur due to radio
interferences or exceeded transmission range; the entire test can be downloaded to PC after test is
completed.
Database Management
Database is organized into Subject, Visit and Tests cards.
Card Function
Subject List all subjects in the database, with demographics .
Visit
Lists all days a subject has been tested. Data includes subject height and weight,
physician, etc. Note: A list of the visits is only displayed when a subject is selected
from the list on the left.
Test Lists all tests performed during each visit. Note: the test list is only displayed when
a visit with at least one test is selected from the list in the center. A single test can
include one or more trials.
Database panel allows management of all the functions related to patient records.
To access the Database panel click on
DATABASE
on the OMNIA HOME page.
