Preliminary Operations
Unpack the device and check content
The Q-NRG is packed in a cardboard box with foam
padding for protection during shipment.
Carefully unpack the Q-NRG as shown by the image to
the right.
Check the packaging contents against the items
listed on the packing list. If any items are missing or
damaged, please contact your authorized local dealer
or COSMED support immediately.
It is recommended to keep the packing materials
for shipping and transportation. Recycle packaging
materials according to national and local regulations.
Electrical safety test according to IEC 62353
Before putting the device into service, the IEC 62353 safety test provides a method to determine if there are any
potential health hazards to the patient or users of the device.
This test shall be executed by competent personnel, who are able to recognize possible consequences and risks
arising from non-conforming equipment. Refer to”IEC 62353 safety test” in the Appendix of this user manual.
Potential Equalization Node
The purpose of additional potential equalization is to equalize potentials between different metal parts that can
be touched simultaneously, or to reduce differences of potential which can occur during operation between the
bodies of medical electrical devices and conductive parts of other objects. The connector is specially shaped so as to
prevent chance of disconnection when used as intended, while allowing the lead to be removed without the need
for tools.
The terminal is marked with symbol in accordance with IEC 60601-1, Table D.1, Symbol 8.

Charge Q-NRG
Q-NRG contains an internal removable rechargeable battery. The device is shipped with a discharged battery,
therefore it is mandatory to charge it before first use. Connect the device to the power source using the power cable
included in the package. The charging status is indicated by the LEDs on the top of the Q-NRG device (charging time
