Connection option
Description
Reference
Connect to a device using
its IP address.
When the Expansion Module
application is on a different device,
you can send a connection request to
another Avaya Vantage
™
device
using the device IP address. This
option is useful when you want to
connect to a device on a different
subnet.
On Avaya Connect Expansion
Module, use the
Connect using IP
address
option. See
Expansion Module using an IP
address
on page 119.
For information about finding a device
IP address, see
address of the Avaya Vantage
device
on page 120.
Connect to a device that
is already paired with
your device.
Use this option when you want to
select from a list of already paired
devices to establish a quick
connection.
After you establish a connection
between the Expansion Module
application and the Avaya Vantage
™
built-in UC experience for the first
time, they are paired automatically.
The applications remain paired until
you remove the pairing.
On Avaya Connect Expansion
Module, use the
Connect to a paired
device
Expansion Module with a paired
device
on page 120.
If the Avaya Vantage
™
built-in UC experience is already connected with three Expansion Module
applications, it does not accept connection requests from other Expansion Module applications.
Enabling the Expansion Module service on Avaya Vantage
™
About this task
To connect an Avaya Connect Expansion Module application with Avaya Vantage
™
built-in UC
experience, you must enable the Expansion Module service on the Avaya Vantage
™
built-in UC
experience.
You do not need to enable this service if Expansion Module automatically pairs and connects with
the Avaya Vantage
™
built-in UC experience running on the same device. The service remains
enabled. You cannot disable the service through the
User Settings
menu on the built-in UC
experience.
If the Expansion Module application and Avaya Vantage
™
built-in UC experience are running on
different Avaya Vantage
™
devices in the same subnet, you can enable Network Discovery on the
built-in UC experience. Expansion Module applications installed on other Avaya Vantage
™
can
then find and send the connection request to the Avaya Vantage
™
device with Avaya Vantage
™
built-in UC experience.
Before you begin
Ensure that your administrator enabled the use of the Expansion Module service with Avaya
Vantage
™
built-in UC experience.
