Using an OTDR module

MTS

Five cursor splice measurement result

Successively press the <Expert>, then <Manual>, then <Splice> keys.
The splice event marker is positioned at the point defined by the cursor and

the result is displayed on the trace and in the event result table.

Important

To perform a five cursor splice measurement, when the <Splice> key

is pressed, either the A or B cursor must be selected, NOT the cursor

A/B.

Note

If no result is displayed this is due to: the display splice measure-

ment result threshold being higher than the splice you are trying to

measure, the threshold is set to

splice display, or the Results on

trace function being disabled.

Note

If you try to measure a splice on a slope, the measurement is not car-

ried out and the “slope found in region between two cursors” error

message is displayed.

Manual ORL measurement

The ORL can be measured for a section of the fiber.
Use the following procedure to measure a section of the trace:

Position the A and B cursors to define the section you want to measure.

Successively press the <Expert>, then <Manual>, then <ORL> keys.
