Creating a user macro 1 to 4 (Learn)
Precautions before creating a macro
•
Set-up the
MTS
e
.
When a macro is played, the MTS
e
set-up is restored to the state when
creating the macro. Therefore it is advised to set-up the MTS
e
before creating
the macro. The macro will then be executed faster and will occupy a smaller
file.
•
Prepare the sequence of actions
.
When creating a macro, delays between actions are saved too. When
executing the macro, there delays will be respected if the Macro is started by
<Play> and they will be ignored if it is started by <Fast>.
To create a user macro:
•
Press the
SET-UP
key, then the <Macro> key (see "OTDR TEST SETUP
window" on page 5-2).
The macro menu appears.
•
Select the macro 1 to 4 to define.
•
Press the
<
Edit
>
key and give a name to the macro (see "Editing" on page 4-5).
•
Press the
<
Learn
>
key.
The preceding macro will be erased. Then you are requested to:
- either confirm the creation of a new macro with the <Confirm> key.
- or stop the operation with the <Abort> key.
Note
If the operation is confirmed, the macro save the actual MTS
e
config-
uration. This configuration will be recalled with the macro. See "Use
of the macro to store a configuration" on page 5-41.
•
After confirmation, enter the successive actions (set-up, acquisition, storage,
etc.). 200 actions can be saved. The delay between each action is also saved.
•
After the last action, go back to the set-up menu using the
SET-UP
key and
press <Macro end>.
Note
If the created macro does not work, increase the pause after the disk
store or print steps.
Saving a macro on a floppy disk
Saving macro on floppy disk allows the user to copy macros from one MTS
e
to
other ones.
To save a macro on floppy disk:
•
In the file menu, select the macro file name.
•
In the macro menu (called by the SET-UP then <Macro> key), select the
macro to save.
