Getting Started

Use the same procedure to attach the opposite end of the handle or strap.
The transport handle is attached to two metal studs on the left hand side of the
instrument.
The strap is attached to both sides of the instrument as follows:
•
Attached to the top studs on each side of the instrument. In this position, the
strap can be used as a carrying strap. It can also, be passed around the users
neck, to be used to provide support during hand held operation of the
instrument in the field.
•
Attached to the top right and bottom left studs. In this position the strap can
be passed around the neck and under an arm to provide support when the
instrument is held at the side.
Charging the batteries
The battery provided with the MTS
e
, needs to be fully charged before use. The
following instructions are relevant for both a single battery or for two batteries
installed in the instrument.
The
Charge
indicator situated below the ON/OFF switch indicates the battery
charge state (see "Charge indicator" on page 3-5).

To charge the batteries, proceed as follows:
Important
To efficiently charge the battery, the MTS
e
screen must be switched
off.
Connect the mains adapter from the mains supply to the MTS
e
(see above).
The LED Charge switches on : the battery will charge in 2,5 hours (for a battery
totally uncharged).
Important
If the charge of the battery is
≥
95% (typical), the charge will not
start.
Once the battery is fully charged the
Charge
indicator switches off. The mains
adapter can be disconnected and the MTS
e
can be supplied from the battery or
