Power Density Control
Press the
Power density
button (available only for
SIM Apotome
,
Lattice
SIM
and
Laser WF
imaging modes) to open the selection panel for the
requested telescope optics, which define the area
the light is concentrated to (Fig. 99).
The higher the laser power density the less will be
the field of view (FOV).
You have the option between
SIM
for SIM
applications (least power density, default for
SIM
imaging modes) as well as
TIRF
(default for
Laser
WF imaging mode
),
TIRF_HP
(high power, ~4 x
higher density compared to
TIRF
) and
TIRF_uHP
(ultrahigh power, ~8 x higher density compared to
TIRF
). The selected mode will be displayed above
the icon.
Note that the optics for
TIRF_uHP
is not
aligned and hence the FOV can be offset
from a center position and the evenness of
the field might be less in this case.

Grating Selection
Press the
Grating
(
Grid
) button (only available for
SIM
imaging mode) to open the
Grating
selection
panel (Fig. 100).
You can choose between an
Empty
position and 5
grids
G1
-
G5
with increasing spacing, which is
indicated in
µ
m. The grating spacing depends on
the laser line and objective used. The system will
automatically load the grating for optimal
resolution enhancement, which can be overruled
by the user by selecting a different grid (only
available in
Show all
mode).
Note that those gratings that potentially can
be used for resolution enhancement are
highlighted.
