Note: During step

), make sure that the

elastic bolts in the connecting rod

align with the holes in the

crosshead pin.

28) Remove the tool (94332, 

Fig. 10

) from

the column and the tool (94337).

29) Remove the tools (94337) from the

connecting rod.

30) Lower carefully the crosshead pin on to

the connecting rod.

31) Remove all manual ratchets, eye bolts

and the chain block.

32) Remove all protection from the the

openings in the crosshead pin.

33) Do the clearance checks, refer to

Completion

1) Install the round nuts to the elastic studs

on the connecting rod, refer to 

9403

2) Install the top bearing cover, refer to

3303

−

5

.

3) Disengage the turning gear.
4) Set the lubricating oil pump to on.
5) Make sure that the crosshead and the

bottom end bearings of the connecting

rod have sufficient lubrication.

6) Unlock the turning gear.
