MAIN AND AUX PRESENTATION PORTS
Specific AIS station functions are accessible via two functionally identical interfaces
i.e. Main and Aux. Communications protocols are text, but quite non-readable
sentences which contain compressed binary data: requests, acknowledgements,
messages etc.
9.2
STANDARD SENTENCES
The sentences transmitted and received through this interface are described in IEC
61993-2 (Annex G) and in the “IALA Recommendation A-124 on AIS Shore Stations
and networking aspects related to the AIS Service”. Realization features are dealt
with in the following subsections.
AIS Base Station T214 receives/transmits messages 1-22 according to ITU-R
M.1371-1 and messages 23, 24 – according to IEC 62287-1.
