Where standard sensor settings are used, the source numbers mean:
Source
number
Position
1
Coordinates from an external source connected to Sensor port and
operating in the differential mode
2
Coordinates from the internal GNSS operating in the differential mode
3
Coordinates from an external source connected to Sensor port and
operating in the normal mode
4
Coordinates from the internal GNSS operating in the normal mode
5
Coordinates from an external source connected to Sensor port and
operating in the Dead Reckoning, Surveyed mode or in the absence of
mode indication
6
Coordinates from the internal GNSS operating in Dead Reckoning,
Surveyed mode or in the absence of mode indication.
Any external source of coordinates can be marked with the ”X” sign. This means that
the coordinates output by this source are more than 33 metres different from the
coordinates supplied by the internal GNSS. It is assumed that this kind of deviation
may only be caused by the fact that the external source uses a datum different from
WGS-84. In this case the AIS Base Station switches to the internal GNSS.
