SYSTEM SETUP MENU
SystemId
– The “Unique Identifier” is used for “system level identification of a
device,” and may be up to 11 alphanumeric characters. If appropriate, this Data
Field may be the same as the “MMSI” Data Field. For example, for an AIS station
that transmits this is usually the MMSI of the station. When multiple Base Stations
are co-located and using the same MMSI, this Data Field facilitates separate
communications with each device. AIS devices that do not require the use of MMSI
radio transmission identification may use an alphanumeric string.
MMSI
– IEC-62320-1 permits operation of several coastal AIS stations with the
same MMSI. The MMSI of the base equipment can be set in both Configuration-
>Setup->BS setup->BCF (Own MMSI) menu and in the Configuration->Setup-
>System setup menu. Such stations should differ in system identifiers used for
addressing in connecting single talker/multi-listeners. The system identifier
(Systemld) is also set in the Configuration->Setup->System setup menu.
Security func.mode
– Used to enable or disable PI security functions (addressing
is required for all configuration sentences that may use comment blocks, section A3
refers):
D = disable the security functions,
E = enable the security functions;
RATDMA
– Controls the Base Station’s ability to use RATDMA access to the VDL:
Disable = off (Base Station cannot use RATDMA access to VDL);
Enable = on (Base Station may use RATDMA access to VDL).
SOTDMA
– Controls the Base Station’s ability to use SOTDMA access to the VDL:
Disable = off (Base Station cannot use SOTDMA access to VDL);
Enable = on (Base Station may use SOTDMA access to VDL).
BCF can change MMSI
– This option should be switched OFF.
ADS-out period
– ADS interval (seconds). This Data Field sets the interval between
the output of “AIS Device Status” sentences. ADS – AIS Device Status is used to
