NAVIGATIONAL DATA SOURCES SETUP
6.7.1
Navigational data sources
If there are several sources of navigational data (time, coordinates, differential data)
AIS Base Station

214 will be choosing the highest priority source. For the priority
description, the concept of a “virtual navigational data sensor” is introduced. There
are the following types of virtual sources:
•
Source of coordinates and time;
•
Differential corrections data source;
•
Synchronization source (PPS).
The choice of virtual sources is made from the Configuration->Setup->Sensor setup
menu.
In the course of operation, AIS Base Station

214 tries to use navigational data from
the highest priority source. A switch to a lower priority source is made in the case of
instability of the one with a higher priority. The data flow is considered to be stable if
intervals between the sentences do not exceed 5 seconds during the period of 30
seconds. AIS Base Station always uses the highest priority stable source. Therefore,
