AIS Base Station

214 is supplied with the disabled Administrator and Service
engineer level protection. It is the user’s responsibility to enable the protection and
safeguard the passwords.
If the user finds the multi-level protection too bulky, some of the levels may be
combined:
•
To combine the Administrator and Service engineer levels you can set one
and the same password.
•
To combine the Operator and Administrator levels (which actually means
the removal of protection from the Administrator level), you can set an
empty Administrator password.
•
To combine three levels (Operator, Administrator and Service engineer) you
can set empty Administrator and Service engineer passwords.
The password for accessing the factory testing level is known to the manufacturer
and cannot be changed.
6.3.3
Recovering forgotten password
If the user has forgotten the password and cannot enter the protected part of the
menu, the following procedure should be used:
1. Open the Configuration->Setup->Admin password menu item (if it is the
administrator password which has to be recovered), or
Configuration->Setup->Engineer password (if it is necessary to recover the
service engineer password);
2. When prompted to enter the password, press the “Cancel” button;
3. The screen will display a menu prompting to restore the forgotten password:
