OPERATING USING REMOTE CONTROL SOFTWARE
For the remote AIS Base Station T214 control, configuring and diagnostic, use the
Remote Control software package included in the delivery set.
The distribution disk includes two software components for the remote Base Station
control:
•
the Base Station Controller SW for installation on the computer connected
directly to the AIS Base Station.
•
the Base Station Configurator for installation in an arbitrary place which has
a TCP\IP connection with the Base Station Controller.
7.4.1
Installation of software components
Installation of Base Station Controller SW
For the installation of the Base Station Controller (BSC) software component select
a computer connected directly to the Base Station’s Main and\or Aux presentation
ports:
•
with a serial cable;
•
with Ethernet TCP\IP.
On this computer install the Base Station Controller program by performing the
following procedure:
•
Open the BaseStationController_ENG\disk01 folder on the distribution disk;
•
Run the Setup.exe program;
•
Follow the installation program directions.
By default, the program will be installed in the C:\BaseStationController2.20 folder.
Installation of Base Station Configurator SW
For the installation of the Base Station Configurator component you can use any
computer which has a TCP\IP network connection with the computer on which the
Base Station Controller is running.
On this computer, install the Base Station Configurator program by using the
following procedure:
•
Open the BaseStationConfigurator_ENG\disk01 folder on the distribution
disk;
•
Run the Setup.exe program;
•
Follow the installation program directions.
By default, the program will be installed in the C:\BaseStationConfigurator2.20
folder.
7.4.2
Setting up and running Remote Control components
Base Station Controller setup
It is only the Base Station Controller components which requires the initial setup. In
the folder where the BSC was installed (C:\BaseStationController2.20 by default)
find the “bsc.ini” file and open it with the aid of a text editor (e.g., Notepad).
