POWER SUPPLY CONNECTION
7.1.1
Connecting main power supply
Connect the main power cable 110÷220VAC\45-65Hz to the IEC 60320 C14
connector on the Base Station rear panel. Put the main power switch next to the
connector, in the “I” position. On the indication panel the Power Status LED should
light up in orange or green.
7.1.2
Connecting standby power supply
If necessary, connect the standby 24VDC power supply to the 206036-2 AMP type
connector on the Base Station rear panel.
Observe the connection polarity! Incorrect polarity in the standby supply connection
will result in the Base Station failure.
7.1.3
Function for automatic switchover to standby supply
The AIS Base Station T214 has a built-in function for the automatic switchover to the
standby power supply. The Base Station controller diagnoses continuously the main
and standby supply voltage. As the main supply voltage decreases to the value
below the voltage permitted for the Base Station operation, the standby supply (if
connected) is automatically switched to without any interruption in the Base Station
operation. After the recovery of the main power supply it is connected automatically
for the Base Station energizing.
7.2
CONNECTING EXTERNAL DEVICES
7.2.1
Connection to serial presentation ports
Connect your computer serial ports or the communication equipment to the Main or
Aux connector on the Base Station rear panel, by using standard straight RS232
cables. The length of cables should not exceed 3 metres.
Standard parameters of the Base Station serial Main and Aux ports: 38400,8,N,1. If
it is necessary to change these parameters, see item 5.1.1.
7.2.2
Connecting to Ethernet network
If the use of the Base Station TCP\IP interface is required, connect the Ethernet
connector to the network hub with the standard Ethernet patch cord.
The external Digital I/O connector has the same type as the Ethernet. Be careful and
check that the Ethernet cable is connected to the correct connector.
The T214 Base Station has 4 TCP\IP ports:
