O. Reversing the Elevation and Azimuth Joystick Control (Grip Hand Controller)
(1) At normal initial power ON the system display will flash
En
and then
An
twice each followed by a 4
second delay during which time the azimuth and elevation direction of operation may be changed.
These messages indicate that the system is operating in the “normal” UP/DOWN, LEFT/RIGHT
direction
NOTE: “E” indicates “Elevation” and “A” indicates “Azimuth”.
“n” indicates “normal” operation and “r” indicates reverse operation.
(2) The function of the joystick can be reversed so that when the joystick is pushed forward, the
searchlight will swing upwards and when pushed to the right, will swing to the left.
(3) To reverse the elevation joystick control function, carry out the following procedure.
(a) Press the system power ON/OFF switch (Figure 20). The system will power-up and the
display will flash
En
twice and then
An
twice.
(b) The display will then begin to count upwards from 0 to 4.
(c) During the count from 0 to 4, simultaneously press the Slave and Dim switches (Figure 20),
hold until the display changes to
Er
and then release.
(d) Turn power OFF.
(4) To reverse the azimuth joystick control function, carry out the following procedure.
(a) Turn power ON and the display should flash
Er
twice and
An
twice. This indicates that the
elevation control has been reversed but the azimuth is still set at normal.
(b) The display will then begin to count upwards from 0 to 4.
(c) During the count from 0 to 4, simultaneously press the STOW and DEPLOY press button
switches (Figure 20), hold until the display changes to
Ar
and then release.
(d) Turn power OFF and then restart the system. The display should now flash
Er
twice and then
Ar
twice before again starting the count from 0 to 4. This indicates that both the elevation and
azimuth control have been reversed.
NOTE: Each time the system power is now turned ON the display will flash Er and Ar
until the settings are again changed using the procedure above.
