6. Troubleshooting
A. Grip Hand Controller Troubleshooting Table
The following troubleshooting table provides information for the fault finding and repair of limited searchlight
assemblies and/or systems. If a fault is unable to be identified or repair information is not provided in this
table, contact the Trakka Corp Service Department for further assistance.

Select Day mode, refer to the Grip Hand Control
Operation Guide.
No power to the Grip
Hand Controller.
If the system performs a POST and the CIU MKII
collective are active then check connections to the
Grip Hand Controller.
System does not
energise.
1. Check the Main 50 Amp Circuit Breaker (PCIU
MKII) is on.
2. Check input power at the PCIU MKII; Remove
the input connector and verify input voltage is
available.
3. If input voltage is available, reconnect the
PCIU MKII, turn system ON and check that the
system performs a POST.
4. If the system does not perform a POST
contact a Trakka Corp Authorised Service
Centre for further assistance.
Grip Hand Controller
displays error code “0”
(did not complete
POST).
Does complete full
POST
1. Switch the system off and on.
2. Check Control Cable connection between the
PCIU MKII and Searchlight is correctly
installed and not damaged.
Faulty connection to
the Grip Hand
Controller.
Check connectors are correctly installed and cable
is not damaged.
Faulty CIU MKII and/or
PCIU MKII
Contact a Trakka Corp Authorised Service Centre
for further assistance.
Grip Hand Controller
displays error code “1”
(lamp will not start).
Faulty connections in
lamp circuit.
1. Attempt to restart the lamp.
2. Check that all the CBM circuit breakers are on.
If circuit breakers continue to trip contact a
Trakka Corp Authorised Service Centre for
further assistance.
3. If lamp strobes but does not start check for
loose connections and terminals
4. Check lamp connections for security and
power.
5. If there is no strobing, or the problem is not
resolved contact a Trakka Corp Authorised
Service Centre for further assistance.
