(1) Remove the lamp assembly (032054) as described in Chapter 5, G.
WARNING: THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT A RESIDUAL VOLTAGE MAY STILL BE
PRESENT AT THE LAMP TERMINALS. CONNECT A 10 OHM, 10 WATT
RESISTOR ACROSS THE TERMINALS TO DISCHARGE ANY VOLTAGE.
REFER TO Figure 52.
(2) Verify the lamp terminal voltage is zero volts (Figure 57, item 4).
CAUTION:
USE A SPANNER TO PREVENT THE BRASS BOLTS FROM TURNING WHILE
REMOVING THE CABLES FROM THE LAMP TERMINALS.
MOVEMENT OF THESE BOLTS MAY AFFECT THE FOCUS OF THE LAMP
AND THEREFORE THE LIGHT BEAM.
(3) Disconnect the ignitor (Figure 57, item 1) cables from the lamp terminals (Figure 57, item 4).
(4) Remove the cable tie (Figure 57, item 2).
(5) Pull the ignitor (033023) away from the lamp housing assembly (035004).
NOTE: A small amount of force may need to be used to remove and refit the ignitor.
CAUTION:
THE ARC LAMP IS POLARITY SENSITIVE AND WILL FAIL IF THE IGNITOR IS
NOT CONNECTED AS ILLUSTRATED IN Figure 58.
(6) Reinstall the ignitor (033023) ensuring the cables go under the filter plate rod (Figure 57, item 3).
(7) Reinstall the cable tie (Figure 57, item 2) using a teflon cable tie 360x4.8 mm.
(8) Reconnect the ignitor cables ensuring that the lamp brass bolts do not move during tightening.
Torque the terminal screws (Figure 58, item 1) to 2.0 ± 0.1 Nm.
NOTE: Do not apply Loctite to the terminal screws.
(9) Reinstall the lamp assembly in accordance with Chapter 5, H.
