I. Lamp Sub-assembly Removal from the Front Case

(1) Removal of the lamp sub-assembly from the front case.
CAUTION:
ENSURE THE LAMP ASSEMBLY IS WELL SUPPORTED TO PREVENT
THE ASSEMBLY FROM ROLLING OFF THE WORK BENCH.
CAUTION:
COTTON GLOVES SHOULD BE WORN WHEN HANDLING OPTICAL
COMPONENTS.
(a) Remove the five screws (Figure 56, item 11) (109753) from the front lens ring
(Figure 56, item 10) (037037).
NOTE: The front window seal (Figure 56, item 7) adheres to the front outer case
(Figure 56, item 6) and does not need to be removed unless it is damaged
and requires refitting.
(b) Remove the O-ring (Figure 56, item 9) (109038) and front protection window
(Figure 56, item 8) (037143). Retain the O-ring and re-use in Step 2 unless the O-ring is
damaged
perished or broken
in which case it must be replaced.
(c) Slide the outer case (Figure 56, item 6) (032025) and inner case (item 4) (037059) off the
lamp sub-assembly (item 1) (032055) as a single piece.
(d) Separate the inner and outer casings but take care not to damage the rubber light baffle
(Figure 56, item 3) (V780) which is adhered to the outer surface of the inner case.
NOTE: After removing the lamp sub-assembly, place the sub-assembly on the lamp
assembly jig (if available) to prevent accidental movement of the assembly.
Refer to Chapter 10 for jig details.
